What is your role with PCRF?
Trustee
Reasons for volunteering with PCRF I was a graduate and postgraduate at Imperial College and was a student of Mustapha Djamgoz before training to be a lawyer. When it was mooted that a charity would be set up to generate funds to carry out research into cancer using techniques more commonly used to investigate neurophysical processes, I was most keen to be involved and hoped that I could put my training both in bio-science and law to useful effect.

Reasons for volunteering with PCRF Progress in finding cures for all the various types of cancer is slow and difficult. Lateral thinking is required constantly to open new approaches.
Professor Djamgoz and his group have pioneered such an approach based on their neurophysiological skills. They are studying exciting new ways of approaching a cure for prostate and breast cancers and such research requires support. I am most happy to be associated with such research and facilitate progress in a small way through my position as trustee.

Reasons for volunteering with PCRF?
I got involved with PCRF at a time when I was really ill. I have a muscle disease known as Myasthenia Gravis which lead to me having to give up work. I became bedridden and very depressed. The volunteers at PCRF were an inspiration to me and the North Cyprus Orchid Walk fund raising project was just getting off the ground so I was asked to help with the initial paperwork etc. I was able to contribute from home and the more I did, the better I felt. Thanks to the wonderful people at PCRF I soon started to convince myself that I could do more and more, and that's exactly what I did. I've never looked back and it's one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life.
